Although the use of International Phonetic Alphabet gained significant momentum during recent decades, it still raises a lot of questions, especially among the learners of English as a foreign language. Most of the confusion stems from the minor differences between transcriptions found in different dictionaries.

It would be nice if there was a way to highlight a specific sound on both the text and transcription. For instance, if I want to highlight /æ/, it would display “Apples and oranges are different fruits”, “ˈæpᵊlz ænd ˈɒrɪnʤɪz ɑː ˈdɪfᵊrᵊnt fruːts”..
