Why I Created This Factor Chart 1-200 . I originally created a factors chart 1-100 for my Algebra 2 and Precalculus students to use as a reference while factoring quadratic polynomials.. My students loved using this factor chart as a resource, but they often became frustrated when they would be looking for a pair of numbers that multiplied to a number that was slightly larger than 100.

Today I’m sharing a factoring flow chart that has been really helpful to my students. Factoring finally clicked for my college algebra students. It was definitely a Hallelujah! moment. The lowest grade on the factoring test was a 95. I’m definitely not your typical math teacher. When students ask for help during a test, I give it to them.
Factoring such polynomials is something that we will learn to do as we move further along in our study of algebra. For now, we will limit our attempt to factor four-term polynomials to using the factor by grouping technique. Exercise \(\PageIndex{3}\) ... Show that \((x−1)\) is a factor of \((2x^{3}−5x^{2}+4x−1)\).
