The Nueces County Jail has implemented a new program for inmates that offers a plan to get them help before they're discharged from the facility.

The Nueces County Jail was found non-compliant on three items during their most recent jail inspection.

Inmates will be able to access everything from books to games. The tablets are meant to act as tools to help maintain a more orderly environment in the jail system.

The program started in august of 2018 and aims to not only decrease the population in the county jail but also lower hospitalizations and provide faster treatment.
