This electrochemical cell ("battery") uses the energy of the reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to drive an electric current. The fuel cell is not recharged like most cells by reversing the current. It can continue to supply electricity because more fuel (hydrogen) is supplied. The only waste product is water.
