The Office of Personnel Management emailed more than 2 million workers on Saturday, demanding they submit a list of their accomplishments by midnight Monday or lose their jobs.

One VA employee said they were "furious" to see leadership's advice that they justify their jobs to Elon Musk.

The revelation comes as federal workers face a midnight deadline to respond.

In an X post and email shared Saturday afternoon, Elon Musk told federal employees to list what they had accomplished the prior week or resign.

Some federal agencies, including the State and Defense Departments, told their employees not to respond to an email asking for a list of tasks they completed.

A second email asking government workers to detail what they did in the last week went out to some agencies on Saturday.
