You can access the Workable (NI) programme if you wish to work, or are working more than 10 hours per week.
Workable NI Programme supports employees with a disability and provides support to Employers. The support is tailored to the individual’s needs and supports the Employee to reach their full potential within their job role but also helps the Employer make reasonable adjustments to support their Employee.
Through the Workable NI programme we can provide advice and support that will be geared towards you and your needs. You can get support through Workable NI if: You have a disability; Are aged 16 or over; Are about to start a new job or are having difficulties in your existing job; Your job is 10 hours or more on a minimum of a 6 month contract

The aim of Workable is to provide appropriate supports to assist people with disabilities integrate into the workplace. The Programme helps people with substantial disability related barriers to employment, to find work and help those who are in danger of losing their job due to the effects of their disability, to keep their jobs.
According to Pivotal’s Economic Inactivity in Northern Ireland report (May 2024), 11.9% of the working-age population in Northern Ireland is not in work due to long-term sickness or disability—by far the highest figure across all UK regions. That equates to over 140,000 people. This figure is notably higher than the UK average of 6.9%.¹
