HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch across North Alabama. The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Saturday and includes Colbert County, Cullman County, DeKalb County, Franklin County, Jackson County, Lauderdale County, Lawrence County, Limestone County, Marshall County, Madison County, and Morgan County.
This watch does butt right up against the central and southern portions of the Alabama/Mississippi state line, and we expect this watch to be expanded into Alabama later this afternoon or early evening. The SPC notes that a few tornadoes are likely, along with isolated hail as large as quarters and scattered wind gusts up to 80mph as well.
