“Yesterday’s severe weather impacted most of Alabama. Unfortunately, we have learned of the loss of at least two of our fellow Alabamians — one life in Plantersville and one in Winterboro,” Ivey said. “We have reports of damage in 52 of our 67 counties. National Weather Service officials have so far confirmed five tornadoes from the storms that struck North Alabama between late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. The most recent confirmation was that an EF-1 tornado had struck the Five Points neighborhood of Huntsville, as had an EF-2 in Gurley, and an EF-0 in Rainbow Mountain, all in the Madison County area.
