We commissioned an independent review of the pilots, formerly known as the Agriculture Biodiversity Stewardship Pilots. The review was undertaken from December 2022 to May 2023. It covers the establishment phase of the pilots. The aim was to identify lessons applicable to the development and implementation of the Nature Repair Market.

The Agriculture Biodiversity Stewardship Package (the Package) aims to identify lessons for how a biodiversity market could operate to create opportunities for landholders to be paid for biodiversity outcomes. It includes, amongst other things, the Carbon + Biodiversity (C+B) and Enhancing Remnant Vegetation (ERV) Pilots.

The Minister has released the Agriculture Biodiversity Stewardship Policy Statement (the Statement) which sets out a vision for an operational voluntary biodiversity market.
