Wordle was later added to the New York Times Crossword app and accompanied by WordleBot, which gave players analysis on their gameplay. In November 2022, Tracy Bennett became the game's first editor, refining word selection and occasionally aligning puzzle words with holidays.
The history of Wordle Wordle was created by Josh Wardle, a programmer living in New York. He created the puzzle for himself and his partner. After realizing that his relatives were hooked to the game, he made it public in October 2021. Wordle gained massive popularity after Wardle added a feature where the game results can be shared on Twitter.
