It is still in the files, just copy "hurt" from the resources/newsound/random folder, place it in the resources/newsound/damage folder 3 times, and rename each one "hurtflesh#" # being 1, 2, or 3. and before doing all of that make sure you have the sound mod enabler. Edit: found here

Just a note, I included the "old" damage sounds that was in between the oldest (pre beta 1.8) and the newest damage sounds. That is the new sound that was in beta 1.8 up to some version where they changed the sounds to the ones we have now.
