Act 70 of 1968 provides the following transitional provision in section 28(2): “Any appointment made under section 14 (1) of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1944 (Act No. 32 of 1944), prior to its substitution by subsection (1) of this section, shall be deemed to have been made under the said section 14(1) as so substituted.”
