I had somehow overlooked the fact that this updated Classic mesh body supports Bakes on Mesh (there’s a button on the HUD under Settings to enable it, see image on the right).In fact, here is exactly that combination, pairing the Akeruka Limited Bakes on Mesh head and included skin tone #5 with the Meshbody Bakes-on-Mesh enabled Classic body:
UPDATED March 18th, 2025: There is a brand new version of the Kalhene Erika freebie mesh body, called Erika Zero X2 (version 3), and the package now includes three body skins for it (pearl, medium, and tan). I have added these free body skins to the list of skins which are a close match to LAQ skin tones, at the very bottom of this blogpost.

Now that Linden Lab has launched the beta version of its Senra mesh starter avatars, I decided to take a stab at creating a comparison chart, comparing and contrasting six options for free or inexpensive (L$250 or less) female mesh bodies.(I will probably follow up with a similar chart for free/inexpensive male mesh bodies, female mesh heads, and male mesh heads.)
Based on how much I like the Starter female bodies I decided to trial a commercial Legacy body. However, searching by 'Legacy and body,' 'Legacy and mesh and body,' or 'meshbody' (also tried using the syntax 'term+term') both in the MP and in-world did not bring up the store for Legacy bodies.
