If you look after another person it is important to look after your own mental health as well as theirs. See our information on support for carers. In Cambridgeshire, mental health support is not part of adult social care.

Cambridge Adult Locality Team (CALT) is for those over 17 living and registered with a Cambridgeshire GP, who are experiencing symptoms of moderate to severe mental illness. The team assess, provides treatment, and signposts to relevant services and support in the community.

This service provides local specialist mental health support for anyone between 17-65 years of age within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and to support GPs in the treatment of mental health issues in primary care. Mental Health Crisis Support. If you are experiencing an emotional or mental health crisis, there are people who can help you. Our Sanctuaries in Cambridge and Peterborough provide safe spaces for individuals referred via the NHS First Response Service on 111 and select the mental health option.

They help understand your health needs and may suggest medication or counseling. They also connect patients and families with mental health specialty teams for ongoing care.
