Beginning with the February 2025 exam, California will replace the MBE with a new 200 Multiple-Choice Question [MCQ] section. The State Bar of California has stated that the subject areas tested on the new MCQ section will remain consistent with those on the MBE and will not substantially modify the training or preparation required to pass the California bar exam.
