Ok, according to the monster manual a group of 4 lvl 4 players should be able to handle a cr4 monster. The other poster mentioned the breath weapon being op and that is a very good point. If you like cr6 then some options are Wyvern Chimera, Medusa, Driver, etc. However, a night hag (cr5) might be an interesting option.
