Police found a man at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound and administered CPR until Troy Fire and EMS arrived. The victim, who police have identified as 20-year-old Nyreesh Amari Smith, died from his injuries.

According to the police department, officers responded to a local hospital around 2:50 a.m. When they arrived, they were told a man died from life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead. The victim was identified Monday as Josiah Slocum, 19, of Montgomery.
