Small claims court challenges

Small claims court is informal. Compared to municipal or common pleas court, the procedures are simpler, and the hearings are less rigid. Small claims cases are heard by a judge or magistrate. There is no jury. The jurisdiction is limited to claims for money damages up to $6,000, not including interest and court costs.
