The Sixth Judicial District Magistrates Commission will be appointing a new magistrate judge this year. According to a news release from the Sixth District Trial Court Administrator’s Office, Magistrate Judge Paul Laggis will retire on July 31.

Ultimately, lawmakers decided last month to reallocate judicial resources throughout the state by cutting nine judicial posts in four counties and adding 8 judicial jobs in four others.
